Students' Representative Council, University of Glasgow

Represented voice of 25,000 students to national press and University senior management. Directed promotion of welfare campaigns and oversaw management of the bustling student media bodies.

Press - regularly briefed press on tumultuous year at the University. Steered tone of national reports on local events (BBC News, The Scotsman, STV) and injected students' arguments into coverage of wider fees debate (Guardian, The Herald).

Campaigns - created huge boost in student engagement by updating brand imagery, overhauling social media strategy and producing lively, pertinent web content.

Events - organised and promoted a 'media week' consisting twenty hours of workshops and talks from industry professionals (Charles Kennedy, BBC Scotland) which attracted a record 600+ students.

Subcity Radio

Reinvigorated the ailing brand, propelling the community station back into the heart of Glasgow's thriving arts & music scene.

Year 1: Created concepts, managed promo & execution of seven sell-out parties, entertaining 4,100 punters and profiting the station £12,000. Public interest reignited and weekly contributors grew to 300.

Year 2: Managed team of fifty volunteers across off-air departments to co-ordinate execution of ambitious events and produce web & print materials.

Vitamins

Adventurous one-off parties in logistically challenging locations around Scotland.

Creative promotional campaigns and high production values combined in events that confounded expectations and established Vitamins as the most exciting event promoters in town.

Creating event concepts, planning promo campaigns and organising logistics, I made sure we got production and punters to and from each secret site.

Every event sold out and each kept the town talking long afterwards.

Copywriting included industry articles, blog posts and SEO. Conducted site optimisation (wordpress, seo, html, css, a/b testing) and ran social media channels.
